My series of imaginary portraits ‘Recognising Expressions and Navigating Conversations’ (R.E.N.C.)’ utilises minimal lines and rich colours to communicate emotion through simple facial expressions.

Originally developed for my Instagram page idrawheads, and for a time considered for distribution as NFTs (non-fungible tokens), these playful characters return the viewer’s gaze, inviting a conversation and addressing the subject of double empathy.

This work is available either on paper or mounted on plywood which has been hand-painted at its borders in the same acrylics as the print and then framed in a 3.3cm-deep wooden frame made by the artist and painted with several layers of Farrow & Ball - Pitch black No. 256 Estate Emulsion, creating a highly finished work which is ready to be hung.
