my work

anticipation, contemplation & joy

A new trio of artworks that consider the anticipation and experience of visitors to the boston tea party coffee shop in honiton, devon, from the perspective of the space as well as those who bring it to life

Talking HEADS

Talking heads is a collection of brightly-coloured multi-layered silkscreen prints consisting of a series of single heads and groups of heads

These works utilise a carefully selected, punchy palette of colours and a brevity of line to create characters that convey expressions yet retain a sense of mystery and intrigue.

The WORKS are about identifying facial expressions and explore the complexity of conversations, including with multiples of people along with the ‘double empathy’ problem

kaboom! Honiton

kaboom! Honiton is A series of original, hand-pulled, limited edition silkscreen prints celebrating the wit, beauty, fun and intrigue to be found within the diverse collection of independent shops, pubs, market stalls and galleries to be found in your average uk town

Seeking to see beyond the obvious, these works intertwine personal experiences with a leftfield view of the subject and, using vivid colours and expressive lines and adopting a variety of styles, an attempt is made to transform the seemingly mundane into something more compelling

characters

the characters in this series began as pencil sketches and have been printed using multiple layers of OVERLAPPING colours, creating beautifully textured pieces which are often said to have a french ‘rustic’ quality

these works have an obvious nursery-related appeal, yet the characters are soulful and contemplative rather than superficial and suit both an infant and grown up environment equally well

Other works

from global health emergency which looks at the twin subjects of the public’s awareness of the day’s pressing concerns and the relevance of art when the public’s attention has moved on, to bullet journal which combines randomly-created compositions and notes written in my own journal, in this collection you will find all manner of pieces

These works come in many sizes, are printed on a variety of paper types and offer many affordable options

This group encompasses my recent painted works - playful and experimental pieces that reflect on themes of perspective, self-knowledge and belonging

my artworks combine the precision of screen printing with the clarity and colour intensity of the INDIVIDUAL ink layers. The rich, pure colours are not just seen but felt, as they mix with the textured surface of premium cotton paper, drawing the viewer into a world of intricate detail.

With a commitment to quality, every print is a showcase of meticulous attention - where the essence of each pigment is captured, and the promise of colour depth is fulfilled; The tactile nature of the paper I select is integral to the art, adding a dimension of depth that enriches the narrative of each piece.

My screen print artworks are stories told in colour and texture, crafted to engage and resonate; the unique allure of handcrafted art distinguished both by its perceived simplicity and its layered complexity.
